Chris Gavin - Graduate Trainee

Company Name: Intelligent People’s

Location: St Albans

Chris graduated from the University of Liverpool with a First Class Honours degree in Physiology and joined Intelligent People in April 2012 after working in telesales for a year.

Joining as a Graduate Trainee Chris went straight on to Intelligent People’s renowned 13 week induction and training program. The program is designed to equip new entrants with all the key sales and negotiation skills needed to succeed in the fast paced world of Online Marketing and eCommerce recruitment.

In his 13th week with IP Chris closed his first deal with a brand new Client that he had developed from scratch utilizing the skills he had learned in training. This resulted in Chris gaining promotion to Consultant level and an immediate £4k rise!

Since then Chris has continued to build an impressive client base which includes Sony and Whittard. Chris is now continuing to build his business and develop his skills with constant help and coaching from the senior team and Directors at Intelligent People. With a strong pipeline, more deals are imminent and Chris is well on his way to a Year One OTE of £30k plus.

Chris gave us his thoughts on life at Intelligent People. Those first 13 weeks are pretty intense and you’re expected to be up and running quickly”, said Chris.” However, the training was second to none and my manager was brilliant at identifying my weaknesses and tailoring the training around these. I came into the company with no recruitment experience and now feel extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the recruitment lifecycle; from developing new business right through to negotiating salaries”.

But what about that first deal Chris? “Oh yes, closing my first deal was a great feeling and one I’m sure I’ll replicate many times in the future!”
