What was it like being a National Trainee?
The National Management Training Scheme was a fantastic learning opportunity which exposed me to a range of work placements across the NHS in Scotland whilst undertaking my MSc in Healthcare Management at the University of Stirling. I benefited greatly from the management training scheme and have continued my learning in a variety of roles within the NHS.
After completing the scheme: Current Position
I am currently working as the General Manager of the Scottish Ambulance Service in the North of Scotland which covers a wide geographical area including the Northern and Western isles. It includes five Health Boards, has 650 staff and an operating budget of £25m.
