Naureen graduated from the University of Sussex with a First Class honours degree in Psychology. Whilst studying at University, she took on the role of a Student Ambassador, mentoring high school children and encouraging them to see their potential in applying for, and achieving, a University degree. As a result of this experience Naureen knew that she wanted to pursue a career in education, encouraging others to see the benefits of enjoying learning and the impact this could have on individuals. Explore Learning offered the ideal opportunity, allowing her to pursue her passion for education alongside working in a fantastic team and gaining a great deal of knowledge and experience in running both the educational and business fields.
“Since starting at Explore, no day as an Assistant Director has ever been the same, and I very quickly felt that my presence was important within the team. My mornings in the centre can vary from holding a parents meeting to discuss their children's progress, calling prospective members or even holding an exciting maths workshop at a local school.
Working with the children in the afternoon has always been my favourite part of the role. The responsibility of mentoring the tutor team and seeing them develop in their role is highly rewarding, as well as getting to build bonds with the children and their parents, and helping them to build their confidence and skills.
I am currently working towards launching a new centre in Hounslow, the experience has been fantastic, getting to know the local community and being given the responsibility to help run a brand new centre is a challenge I am very much looking forward to taking on board.
This role has allowed me to recognise my potential, providing me with the responsibility to mentor and lead my own tutor team, as well as being highly involved in marketing and promoting the centre. With a great team to support and develop me, I feel that I have developed a huge amount of different skills in such a short amount of time and I am very excited to learn more!”
