With headquarters in Dundee, Alliance Trust PLC has been investing since 1888 and is one of the largest generalist UK investment trusts by market value listed on the London Stock Exchange. As at 30 June 2013 we had net assets of nearly £2.8bn.

Our focus is to generate superior returns for shareholders over the medium to long term through a combination of capital growth and income. We have no fixed asset allocation benchmark and we invest in a wide range of asset classes throughout the world to achieve our objective.

We allocate our capital across a broad range of asset classes to enhance and preserve total returns and to provide shareholders with real growth over the medium to long term. We can use investment techniques such as gearing and hedging to enhance returns and reduce risks within our portfolio.
Over a two year fixed term period, trainees will experience 4 placements within the business such as, Investments, Sales & Marketing, Change & IT, Compliance & Risk as well as our Platform Proposition and even working with the CEO and Investor Relations areas.

Many of our previous Management Trainees have studied towards their IMC and
CFA qualifications and have been involved in our mentoring and leadership programmes.
Throughout the programme trainees are supported by Alliance Trust to gain valuable industry specific qualifications in addition to receiving individual training which will be tailored to suit their existing skill set as well as working to development them in line with their individual career goals.
What we look for
Consistently high record of academic achievement
A minimum of recent 2:1 in any degree discipline. Applications from Masters or PhD students are also welcome*
Personal qualities and experience outside of university life are as important and highly regarded by Alliance Trust
