Carpmaels & Ransford is a leading and progressive firm of patent & trade mark attorneys providing services in all areas of intellectual property.
Our broad-based technical expertise is organised into dedicated teams (including Biotechnology, Chemistry and Engineering & IT), with key technical and professional skills specific to both emerging and established industries. Each team represents a pool of specialist knowledge where developments in the law and technology are closely followed.
Who are we?
Being a leader in our field is not an accident. It’s the product of expertise and experience, underpinned by a lot of hard work. Maintaining that position requires constant learning and improvement, the desire to set continually higher standards and the ambition to exceed client expectations, not merely meet them.
Of course, intellectual prowess is the bedrock of our firm. However, there are other important factors that contribute to the special energy one finds within the firm. We are committed and enthusiastic individuals. We foster a culture where everyone’s view is valued, not a stifling hierarchy. We celebrate and value our heritage, but we are never held back by it. We work with each other in a spirit of openness and co-operation, not in jealously guarded domains.
Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and Managing Intellectual Property have each ranked Carpmaels & Ransford in their highest tier. We have also won the 'UK Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year' award at the Managing Intellectual Property Global awards 2012.
We typically employ up to six new entrants in our London office to train as patent attorneys each year.
We also hold Open Days to give students an insight into the daily life of a patent attorney. They include interactive workshops to demonstrate patent drafting & prosecution and allow plenty of opportunities to ask questions to our trainees, qualified attorneys and partners.
