Contributing 1.3 billion euros to rural economies every year, ABP Food Group’s farmer network is vast. We recognise that the farmers who supply meat to us are vital partners in ensuring that the quality of our product is maintained and traceability is ensured.
In fact, we are so passionate about our farmers that we are renowned for paying our 35,000 farmer suppliers on the day of delivery, at strategically located abattoirs that minimise animal transport distances. Minimising our environmental impact is a cornerstone of the business, alongside sustainability and providing consistent quality.
The people that deliver upon this are undoubtedly our greatest asset, and we depend upon our people for the success of our Group. We are now looking for a driven, ambitious Finance Graduate to join the Group.

So where do you come in?
Your role will involve developing your skills in the financial function of our business. You will learn to take responsibility for short term issues as well as long term strategy, helping us to overcome financial matters at ABP effectively and efficiently.
Typically, you will get involved in business analysis, evaluating investments, predicting costs, analysing trends and making financial projections, plus accounting and managing day-to-day cash flow.
We want you to have the confidence to take real responsibility as you develop into the accounting management role. This is why we are fully committed to supporting you through your CIMA qualification. As you progress through the three levels of the qualification (Strategic, Management and Operational), you will be rewarded financially. Successful completion of each level will entitle you to a significant £4,000 salary increase (per level). This means that your salary after completion of the three levels would be £32,000.

We appreciate that you may have to relocate for this role and therefore provide an £8,000 relocation fund (split over two years) to enable you to move to the area without worry (available if you have to relocate further than 25 miles from home).

What do you need to demonstrate?
- You must have a Financial, Economics, or Accountancy background, and strong academics – 2.2 minimum.
- It would be advantageous (but not essential) for you to have experience with the practical side of Finance; bookkeeping, accounts, payroll etc. This can come from work experience or industrial placements. Ultimately, we want people who aren’t afraid to get stuck in!
- If you have a passion for numbers and respect the importance of data, then this is the opportunity for you. We want someone with a range of skills and a genuine passion for Finance to join our team.
- Strong communication skills and team working abilities are a must. You will be communicating with a variety of departments and individuals, so being adaptable and personable is critical.
- A driving licence is essential.
