Aston Manor was established in 1983, it is the largest independently owned cider maker in the UK and the second largest manufacturer of cider in the UK. Aston Manor Cider has a production and packaging facility in Birmingham, orchards in Worcestershire and Herefordshire and a further production and packaging facility at Tiverton in Devon.

In spring 2013 the business announced the planting of 1,000 acres of additional new orchards committing to the planting of over 350,000 trees. In doing so we have agreed twenty-five year contracts with our farmer and grower partners.


The main purpose of this role is to assist with the development and launch of new and improved products, through all development stages from concept to launch. This candidate will also provide support for the Product Development Manager and Contract Packaging Executive with the sign-off procedures of all internal and external artworks, as well as assisting with the preparation and generation of customer samples. You will also provide general administrative support with filing and organising product development paperwork as needed throughout the team.


Reporting to the Head of New Product Development, this role has been created through the growth of our product portfolio and ambitions to grow further market share. As a Product Development Administrator you will have the opportunity to learn about the business, their products and will be exposed to the following areas:

  • Assisting in Contract Packaging Projects for both packaging sites for customers.
  • Working with the Product Development Manager and the Contract Packaging Executive on steps to gaining internal and external sign off of all artwork.
  • Liaising with suppliers, printers and customers to agree required amends to timelines.
  • Attending press passes with internal teams from Aston as required.
  • Assisting on projects to help co-ordinate product launches with our customers, sales teams, demand planners, SAP team, marketing, procurement and production.
  • Company methods and policies in order to maintain the highest standards of information and communication both internally and externally.


Academically, we are looking for CCC (or higher) at A-level and a 2:2 degree (or higher) from a technical or business-related background. You will have strong communication skills both verbal and written. You will also have;

  • Strong numerical ability
  • An organised approach
  • The ability to manage large volumes of data
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A can do attitude and great work ethic
